When you contact Vela

If you send an email, Vela receives the details you provide, such as your name, email address, business information and message. This data is used to answer your enquiry, discuss a possible project and prepare a requested proposal.

The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Where an enquiry does not lead to a contract, the legitimate interest in answering and documenting business correspondence may also apply (Article 6(1)(f)). Contract and invoice records are retained for the periods required by Portuguese law. Other enquiries are deleted when they are no longer needed for the conversation or a related legal claim.

Website hosting

This static website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. When you visit, Netlify may process technical request data such as IP address, browser information, requested page and time of access to deliver and protect the site. This processing supports the legitimate interest in providing a secure, reliable website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Netlify may process data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards described in its own privacy and data-processing terms.

Email provider

Incoming email for @vela-algarve.com is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to a Gmail mailbox operated by Google. Cloudflare processes address and delivery information to route the message. Google processes and stores the message in the destination mailbox so Vela can read and answer it. Their services may process data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards described in their own privacy and data-processing terms.

Cookies and external content

The Vela website does not intentionally set analytics, advertising or preference cookies. It contains no analytics scripts, tracking pixels, embedded videos or third-party font requests. Portfolio links open only after you choose them. The hosting provider may use strictly necessary technical measures to deliver and protect the service.

Because the current site does not use optional cookies, it does not show a cookie-consent banner. This statement must be reviewed before analytics, embedded media, chat widgets or other third-party scripts are added.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to processing. You may also complain to Portugal's supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).
